....or so I assumed when I came back to my car on Sunday evening.

The Wing mirror had been hit by what I presume was another wing mirror as it was bent forwards and the mirror glass was hanging out.

However, it appears that the design is so that the mirrors fold forwards.

Luckily there is only a crack in the casing (which I can live with) and all l electrics are functioning correctly.

Interesting design from BMW!

You were lucky hte glass didn't break. A scooter hit mine squeezing through a gap that wasn't there and the new glass cost £200!

it's that laminated glass with the liquid layer inside that allows it to autodip.

An interesting.

The mirror casing is actually ok, its the casing part that holds the actual mirror glass that has a lovely hairline crack.

Pm me how much you would like for one or the pair.

Yep. The Mrs clipped mirror on her X5 the other week smashing the glass. £197 as I recall for new glass.

A scooter hit mine, exactly the same way, waved without looking back and drove off... I was in stuck in traffic. It seriousely fked me off. i normally leave bycicles, moped and motorcycles room to maneuvre whenever possible, but been seeing less and less courteous riding from the lot of them, think it's time to take full advantage of my right of way and positioning without giving them a second thought.

Car is still waiting for final decision.

Can't touch it before all parties sign the car off I'm afraid.

The smashed glass was the "effect". Bold text is the "cause" of the bill hehe
