During my engine rebuild I decided to reburbish the clutch - I've had the friction plates relined and the flywheel and centre plate remachined to ensure that they are totally true. However, having done all of this my machinist has told me that several of the small sprung plates which are riveted onto the centre plate (the steel disk between the two friction plates)are brokenmad

I know that AP won't sell bits for these things and wondered if anyone had a spare centre plate (or just the springs) from an old US clutch??

I hope someone can help otherwise I'm stuck with a 99% refurbished clutch which I will need to totally replaceweeping

Thanks folks - GP, cheers for the offer, but I'm trying to avoid getting a whole clutch. Simon - YHM.

Where did you have your clutch relined/refurbed?

I had the friction plates relined by these guys: http://www.autoandindustrial.globalhire.co.uk/html...

Then I just used my local (and trusted!) machine shop to take a couple of thou off the flywheel and intermediate plate to ensure that they were totally true.

That's the co. I will be using. What was the quality of their work like and how much did they charge?(Pm if you like)

I know when I spoke to them that they could also skim the flywheel and inter plates etc

2 plates came in at just under £100 including P&P. The quality looks fine, however. I guess that only time will tell!

They will also do the machining, however, I found it more convenient to get that done locally.
