Holidays are coming

As in the Coca-Cola ad on the billboards - My holdays are not coming (at least not till next July). Xmas however is coming but it's not called bl**dy holidays in this country!

Although eventually it might as impressionable youngsters start thinking these Americanisms ar actually correct!

I love coca cola but detest the "holidaysation" of Christmas. There insidious grip on Christmas seems to grow every year.

Santa only wears red and white because that's the way he appeared in a Coca Cola advert you know - he is supposed to wear green

I'd plead partial cobblers. There may have been a red and white santa before Coca Cola started using it but the reason for it's modern prevalence is due, in no small part, to the Coca Cola Company. I dare say that if Coke's corporate colours were green and white then that would be the accepted colour of Santa today.

When we say "the holidays", we are referring to the season in which Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years all come one after the other (in this country), it is a catch-all phrase. Now, for those whos say "Holidays" just to be PC....I agree, screw that!
