Can anyone who has fitted a new solenoid to their starter give a quick step by step guide to how it fits together?
I'm sat here with the solenoid 'body', plunger, spring-thing(?), a couple of drilled metal disks & the starter itself.
Does the plunger have to hook over the lever in the starter or just push against it?
How does the spring arrangement work? Does it slot in behind the lever or in front?
Cheers

From Memory

Spring goes between the solenoid and the lever, the plunger hooks over.

It is a complete to do.

Check the holes line up on the plates and the solenoid itself before trying to assemble as they will only go together one way.

Also I think I put the plate on the solenoid and put the pluger and spring in at the same time. Don;t load the plates onto the spring as this makes it harder to refit to the solenoid.

Righto cheers. I tried it with the spring behind the lever & when I fitted the starter all I got was the motor spinning up but no turning over. Will try again...
