Attention De, Dom and all....
Discussion
Alright Domster, Derestrictor, Sb, UV and all you porker guys....
How are you all? What's been going on with eveyone? Have you finished building that beast yet Dom? Has Derestrictor craked the 600 pony barrier yet? I bet UV has a Ferrari by now too.
It's been a long time since I was pestering you all over which RS / T2 / T4 to buy and how to generally spend a fair wedge on a fun car. Well, since then a few things have occured to put me on hold for a stretch. Splitting up with my girlie and buying my own house slashed my budget in half soon enough. Anyway, now that my place is finally all done up (bloody DIY!) and fitted out with tasty kit I'm back on here to join in the fun.
After a few rides in various fun daily cars I found myself smitten with the little Lotus Elise around my local wiggly country lanes. The handling is just plain daft, pulling real 'g' in the corners. I reasoned that it will be great fun for my local area and can handle some track days, whilst only costing me a few chips to keep me in tyres, brakes and fuel throughout the year. So my Alfa is going in a few weeks and my new Lotus arrives soon on an '04 plate.
It's the new top model called 111R, with an apparently bullit proof 190 pony Toyota mill. A Lotus sports 'zorst is in the wings to push the 200 barrier soon enough. In standard trim it's good for a 4.7 second nip to 60, although it tops out at a mere 145 top end. The real party is to be had under a ton really, so my license should be safe, for a change (already been banned for speeding). Anyway, it has a total spec of aircon, black leather, sound proofing, touring pack, black wheels on a titanium body.
If any of you guys are 'out to play' this spring I'm sure I'll see you about. I'm off to trawl though the meetings sections to try and organise a few trips for later on. I really fancy a summer Euro Alps jaunt. Anyone else ever wanted to do this? A few track days are in order too, if there are any other willing novices out there.
Your un-loyal marque desserter,
Roadrunner.

Hi RR
Good to see you back
Your indecisiveness re T4/RS/Noble etc. even made an issue of PistonSlap, but you may have to search the archives for that one
The Elise is a fine choice, I was v impressed going around Bedford in one driven by Martin on these forums (996TT owner). Better on track than on road in my opinion.
Good to hear from you and click on the EuroHoon banner if you fancy a European jaunt. Otherwise see you at a meet soon?
