There are 2 UJ's on the steering column/link rod. One that goes through the body and the one on the steering rack.

Are they both the same as I was sure the one on the rack has a larger spline.

I would check but my car is 150 miles away. thumbup

Both were identical on mine.

I got mine off TVR Power FWIW.

I had to grind mine too, the backs of the knuckles rubbed each other.

Mine hardly goes out in the rain.

They'd only bug me when I need to remove the steering rod to other jobs.

yes Plus 1. Lots of grinding to get it to fit and to stop the knuckles rubbing. Also attacked the mating half with a half round file so that I still had some meat left. Needs jacking up again as still not happy. May need a splash of oil. Another 5 minute job that turned into a spanner lobbing curse-athon. Had to readjust steering wheel which did not want to shift, now intermittant fault with wipers and indicators, plus steering wheel boss dragging on mating plate behind it. They always keep you entertained.

I bought a generic small CV boot from Halfords and modified it (hacked it apart, packed it with grease and cable tied it back on) to fit round the upper UJ. Needs checking every few months and repacking with CV grease but so far (12 months) so good. thumbup Works well and keeps the muck from seizing it up. Worth the couple of quid and half hour to fit.
