Technically there are already laws that prevent group riding and meets etc, but the laws are never really used.

The Criminal Justice Act stated that the police have to be informed everytime there is going to be a meet or group ride of more than 6 (I think) vehicles. It was brought in the try and curb illegal raves and managed to criminalise an entire lifestyle, but never mind that is another discussion. These laws are not used and I think any lawyer could run a truck through any argument that just because you a lead rider you are respnsible for other riders...

MCN are the biggest sensationalists in publishing and most of what the print is bks. I assume there were other factors in play or they have just gone off half cocked again. I wouldnt worry about it, the Police wont!

Basically the front guy was doing 85 in NSL and guy behind was doing 103. They reasoned that the leader of the hoon must have been doing 103 if someone needed to do 103 to catch up. The leader recieved the same penalty as the fastest of the followers....

I have given up being shocked at the stupid penalties and legal screw ups made in this country.

SO if you were in front and someone was overtaking you and exceeded the speed limit, could you claim you didn't know them and it was all just a coincidence they were on the same stretch of road as you because actually you had arranged to meet at a destination and you just happen to choose the same route to get there???

So next outing... we just agree to rendezvous at the finish point and how you get there and at what speed is entirely up to you
