... but I find it saves time"

This is THE worst thing a salesman has ever said to me when I was talking to them.

I cant believe a sales person said that.
Obviously its ok to say that sort of thing to thick people, because it does, indeed, save a lot of time and boredom.
But to say it to someone you are selling to is bizarre.

Superb.

The sheer cheek to say something like that, to a customer. He did, though I'm sure you'll agree, deserve to be punched pretty dam hard.

If someone was trying to sell something to me and they said that, I'd either hang up or walk away. Instantly.

Indeed. Should be swiftly followed by a nodding agreement, and the comment "it does save time. Thanks for yours, but I need to arrange a call to your competitor. Tara"

What a surprise. nolar is mentioned and you pop up.

You are as transparent as cling film, and just as clingy.

I've used similar tact, when talking to a Sales Specialist. He was talking absolute rubbish, so I raised my hand and said 'Can I just stop you there', then said nothing and looked away.

He saw the funny side and shut up though.

Salesman "........it saves time."

Customer "Indeed you're right, it has saved me time. You are clearly a now fk off."

thumbup

I know sometimes customers can ramble on 'off topic' sometimes and you do want them to hurry up, but that is just pure sales-suicide.
