No had my car serviced on Friday and had new tyres fitted yesterday - tyre fitter said wheels hadn't been off for a long while (stuck on). I just thought it was a bit strange....

It's an oil service, at a main dealer, count yourself lucky if they have actually drained the oil from the sump plug.

A friend had his E46 330d oil serviced at a SE london dealer about a month ago, they gave the car back to him with the oil on the 'minimum mark' on the dipstick.

Don't they just pump it out via the dipstick? I think they have a machine that does this, then refills from a large tank.

I don't believe wheels come off but they should check discs/pad thickness.

Not that unusual. I change my own tyres. My 3 series was doing about 23K per set of RFTs, and I changed rear to front at about 10K each set to even out wear.

Every time I had the wheels off one or two would be stuck on the centres, despite being copperslipped.

Many years ago I did a couple of weeks work experience / floor sweeping at a Ford Dealer. One of my jobs was to cut any cable ties off the wheel trims so that people thought their wheels had been off during the service. In reality the brakes were checked from underneath the car while it was up on the ramp.
