I far from being an anti-capitalist, but I do have this 'thing' about big companies - that it's dangerous, for so many reasons, to let certain types of 'essential' businesses get too large - Tescos must already have over 30% of the UK supermarket trade cornered - lest they create an anti-competitive environment, once they've wiped out and locked out the competition. This story is the flip side - big eventually, inevetably, becomes public sector style inefficient.

N.B. I say 'essential' regarding the supermarkets because, seemingly, the UK can't cope without regualr re-supplies of our groceries; witness the scrum in the supermarkets when they're shut over just a Bank Holiday.
