I Have an alfa engine that is drive by wire Bosch Throttle Body & Pedal. The engine is being modified & the Stock ECU that controls the Throttle will be replaced, so there is no throttle control.

Is there available a simple control that is able to directly control the bosch Throttle body from the pedal signal. Nothing fancy, just to follow the pedal?

Cheers
Neil

I'm sure you could make/have made, the requisite software/hardware to provide that control..

Alternatively,

1.) Use an ECU that will cope with DBW
2.) Convert to physical linkage (utilising "manual" pedal box etc)

I was hoping that there would be a plug and play type interface available to avoid having to convert to a cable..

If you insist on retaining the DBW, Motec, Link and no doubt a few other ecu's can support DBW.

Not sure if they can control it directly, or require additional control boxes for it though.

You'd need to speed to either the ecu suppliers themselves or some tuners with experience

What ecu did you intend to use ?

Chances are it would be easier just to revert to a cable operation. Surely there is a car model in your range that had a cable ?

Converting to cable would be a darn sight cheaper and easier than trying to get an aftermarket DBW system to work IMHO...

Plus you get better throttle response etc..

This has been debated a few times. FBW can be plenty sharp enough.

Out of interest, which ECU are you moving to?

I was planning to use an Emerald ECU.

From the above, if nothing is easily available, then best to go for a cable.

Thanks

Is part of the project making you want to use the emerald?

Have a look at this thread about the Link G4 Extreme : link

(although, that ECU may not be available for your application, sorry..)

Link is generic so could do almost any application.

AFAIK Emerald does not suppport DBW, so it would make a lot of sense to choose an ecu that does if you insist on retaining it.
