S-Type R problem filling tank

Anyone else have a problem filling the fuel tank.

Fuel Guage was showing empty, range on computer was around 15 miles.

Filled tank, only took around 50 litres before pump cut off. Wouldn't take any more.

Fuel guage shows 3/4 full, range now saying around 230 miles.

This is not the first time I've had this problem.

Could it be an airlock in the tank?

I had a similar problem with the X-Type. Filled up with fuel and it only showed 1/2 full. I had to drive about 50 miles before it showed full.

This only happened 2 or 3 times this summer and hasn't happened since.

I had this problem some years ago. Usually, after a fill up the fuel gauge showed maybe 1/2-3/4 full. I ended up replacing the senders-there are two of them-in the tank. I think this cost maybe £600 at a JMD under warranty.

Ouch £600.

I have an AA Gold Warranty on it, be worth checking if it's covered by that then.

If my memeory is working right, it was £400 or so for the parts and £200 for labour.
