Are Brits aware of Dobbs? He is a hugely self important ex anchor who was fired by CNN a couple of months ago when they got sick of him giving credence to the "birthers". He has now let it be known that for his next job he is considering running for President of the USA! I for one hope he does. Watching him and Palin battle it out to see who can be the most bigoted would be fun to watch. hehe

I feel he might have trouble winning over the Hispanic vote.

Lou Dobbs' views probably are very close to the majority of PHers. I don't see him as POTUS material, however. As for his Mexican wife being ironic, not so. My wife is Honduran and has conservative views on immigration as well. She spent the money, the seven years, and took the 120 question test. She would like others to do the same, as would all of the other legal and voting immigrants. You see, it is not immigration that gets folks' back up, it is illegal immigration. The lefty press continually leaves out the illegal part. wink

Actually, I think it's immigration by people other than themselves that gets their backs up.

As an example (and I DO NOT mean this persoally):
In your wife's case, she wants to be the only Honduran in the village, so to speak. She doesn't want all those other Hondurans (except possibly, her family) coming in. She came to the US to get away from that place.

Actually, she does not feel that way; it is not her people but rather the nation she left. Perhaps others feel that way, I can't say. So, you are now saying the immigrants are anti-immigration?

Traditionally the most anti-immigrant groups have been composed of the 1st and 2nd generation.

As for Dobbs. The immigration debt I don't mind even if he crosses the line all to often. He seems to ignore that the vast majority of Latin/Hispanic immigrants are legal... The childish focus on if Obama is a natural born citizen is embarrassing.
