I tend to use Singletrackworld, Ebay and Southerndownhill for the majority of second hand purchases and sales.

Is what I think your asking.

In which case, Ebay.

Working in a bike shop I used to hear a lot about this.

Very, very often they would turn up on ebay a few days/weeks later.

They also turn up in shops, a lot.

We got quite a few peoples bieks back.

Print off some phots and details and take them to your local shops - they'll be happy to stick them up in the staff room so the staff can keep an eye out and take appropriate action when they appear.

Car boot sales? My sons 'bike was nicked some years ago and I spent Sunday going round our local boot sales. Didn't find anything but at least you're doing something. I take it this is connected with your other post. If so good luck, I hope you find the little ^*&^*^^*'s

you selling the orange?

I have always used ebay, and done very well both selling bikes and buying bits.
I recently sold a well used 2007 stumpjumper for over 60% of its original cost!

It does take time and patience but I find that half the fun!

-10% final value fees now, and lose another 4% if they pay via Paypal. Some stuff does go for silly money which goes some way to offset that though.

I think the phrase "the chance would be a fine thing" comes into play here. frown

Isn't that London market - Brick Lane is it? - famous for stocking hot bikes? Is there anyone in the capital who could keep an eye out for Gooby's machines around there? It's not so far from Bournemouth.

Thats why I always put on the listing 'advertised else where, so will cancel if sold'. It always invites cash offers and means you get to deal with them face to face, and it only ever costs the listing fee smile
