ha, I did consider bigger rims off a newer model but I had them photoshopped and it just looked a bit, well, wrong.

Fair enough. I know yours is a later model but I think I prefer the "other" classic wheel design although I imagine the diameter is the same.
Actually the newer car looks quite small!

The one thing that is smaller though is the gap between their values. And getting smaller by the month.

yep agreed, admittedly not a new one but I could have almost got a 2002 vogue with 100k ish miles for what I paid for the 1994 LSE (with 67k miles). I did pay up a bit to be fair but did so to get a one owner low miles car in the spec I wanted.

Yup, I plan to, although i do like the rims on your defender which i've seen the odd LSE with, same diameter though I think.

I see you had a supercharged 3.5, what was that like.

Cant help feeling that the old girl could do with a teeny bit more poke.

Overfinch actually fitted that rim on their 570s models. It was originally introduced with the discovery then adopted for the defender. The westminster grey colour of the wheel was only used on the ES model Disco. And the 50th anniversary.

The 3.5 was a nightmare to begin with. I used a DPR Sprintex blower that was Dennis Priddles own system. The thing was i had monkeys work on it originally and it just wouldnt run right.Cam profile was not right,and coupled with the blower it was a nightmare around town. After a lot of pounds thrown at it,i eventually gave it over to the man himself Dennis Priddle to work his magic. And he did. I never got around to seeing what b.h.p it was making. But i never forget leaving his workshop and on the way home finding a long up-hill gradient and easily pulling 135mph. The thing was i didnt do it two many times,as 1. Never try braking in a classic at that speed. And 2. I didnt want to blow the box.

But i can honestly say that it made a world of difference.
