Swelling on Knuckle

My knuckle in the middle of my finger has swollen up over a few weeks. It is not painful to touch but if I catch it, it hurts like hell.

The area is slightly darker than the rest of the finger.

Any ideas?

I'm so happy that you didn't mean moose knuckle.

If it absolutely kills when you touch it, it could be an infection. I had an infection on my toe once, and the pain was so sever I went to A&E thinking i'd broken it playing squash.

Without seeing a doctor you could possibly apply savlon to the area and take anti inflammatory tablets.

Do you use a keyboard a lot - could be an RSI thing?
