Hi All,

Well I finally took the plunge and bought my first Impreza, 56 plate WRX in black.

Its standard at the mo so just wondering what, if anything, are the mods and stuff that really should be done to the car. I fancy getting an STI boot spoiler so if anyone knows a good stockist/supplier then I would be gratefull.

I also want to change the standard stereo to something that can control my iPod too, has anyone personally changed the stereo and if so, is it easy to do? I gather the Forester facia tray will fit as the blank if I opt for a single din unit.

If anyone has any handy hints, tips or general advice for the car and to ease ownership then I would appreciate hearing them.

Thanks all,

Ian

Hi Nicola, Long time no speak, hope you are keeping well.

I will be taking some photos of the car, when the weather is suitable, but seeing as I have now moved to Edinburgh/Aberdeen it may take some time. Only got the car yesterday, so still getting used to it, but early indications show I will like it.

PS, are you on facebook, if so, drop me an email with your FB name and I will add you, 3 early (phone cam) pics on there if you want to see.

Welcome to Scooby ownership. I'm sure you will enjoy it. I have.

Mine has the Prodrive Performance Pack, which is supposed to make a significant difference. It is difficult for me to compare with/without as the car came with the PPP. It is said that it increases power at the bottom end quite a lot, which makes it easier to drive.

Mine is a WRX 2004 facelift.

Welcome to the scooby clan, you better chop up the credit cards just now. Once the modding bug catches it can get expensive ( but fun )

I am on my second one now and would hate to think how much i have spent but i have loved every minute of it.

Sign up on Sidc or scoobynet and there are plenty of people who will point you the right direction with any questions you have.

Welcome to the world of scooby ownership, I've got the same car and love it.

The standard headunit can control ipod's and will cost about £20 for the adapter, more info on http://bbs.scoobynet.com/ice-2/664879-ipod-connect...

These cars respond quite well to a new exhaust and remap you should see around 270bhp, I've been told fuel consumption as well. I'm planning on having this done to my car next year so I can't comment yet.
