Audi A4 vibration from front wheel

has anybody had this before, a SERIOUS vibration that seems to be coming from the left front wheel, everything looks to be O.K. a little play here and there but nothing bad. If the car is run with the wheels off the ground the left front can be seen to "leap all over the place" while driving at around 120 kph plus the vibration is felt through the floor, the steering wheel does not shake at all. HELP.
