Have you owned a 360 AND a 355????
Discussion
A really serious question for anyo e that has owned BOTH a 360 and a 355....
The background to this question is that after a few months and a few more thousand miles in my 550, I'm starting to wonder if I have bought the wrong car (despite lusting after one for 12 years). Awesome as the 550 is, I think I went for too much of GT and what I should have bought was a racing car for the road...
So, I turn my attention back towards 360s and 355s, both of which I have driven quite a few examples of. My unique problem is that I don't have a garage for another year or so, therefore my pride and joy will get waxoyled, underseal topped up and permaguarded and left outside...
Firstly will a 355 or 360 take this treatment as well as a 550? If yes, will the 360 be the better choice regarding fending off rust and enduring this? I am torn because I love both cars aesthetically, the capristo fuelled 355 exhaust note brings me out in spine-tingling goose bumps and the F1 box in the 360 at full chat is something else...
Should I do it and what advice can you offer (bearing in mind that the 550 just isn't doing it for me in the way I want and I'm too tall to drive a Gallardo and at this juncture can't afford a 430 or Murcielago)?
Thanks all

If its off the road then you really need a good cover. Heart says 355 no question head says 360 but for me I really would go for with my heart if the 550 isnt doing it for you.
I had / have one of these covers pre my garage being built will be up for sale soon

G'day Anthony.
I can't comment on ownership of both cars, however I can say the tin worm is likely to be an issue on the 355. I've seen 3 or 4 that have been left to live outside and they don't fare well at all. Mine lives indoors and I still occasionally see bits here and there which need attention.
Not only does the painwork corrode, but the engine bay suffers as well (as it is open to the elements) which includes all the electrics, firewall, subframe etc. I cannot say how a 360 would fare, but its likely to be a far safer bet for weathering the elements.
On the flip side, you need to consider your reason for changing in the first place. To that end, drive then both again and pick whichever one really floats your boat. The rest is then simply logistics. And if you can keep the rain off (eg, like that tent idea, or a more compact version) then the durability issue becomes far less of a concern.
For me, it was no contest. Manual 355 with a Capristo.
At the NEC, loads of people drove around me (I am just too timid), but they all slowed down and opened the windows so I could blast by at full throttle on the straights....
I'm about to pull it to pieces over the Winter and sort anything I find, otherwise I'd happily swap you cars for the week (mine just sits and gathers dust anyway).

whichever you go for the Capristo exhaust is a must!
i'd also say that having a drop top to fully enjoy the noise would make sense..
as it's parked off road that wont be an issue. As has been said, drive both and see what works for you, you're more than welcome to come and have a look at my Capristo'd 360 Spider if you want, i'm not too far from Drew either.

), but as others have said, I fear the 360 (coupe) may be a better bet if it's left to fend for itself
