Bloomin typical........Had an MOT at 11 yesterday morning and on the way there, the car decided to spring a leak and make a horrible noise. Upon inspection......yes, you guessed it.....the power sterring pipe in front of the radiator had cracked and was leaking. A quick phone call to Monkfish and a new pipe is on it's way to me as i speak. Two things really.

1. Would I be able to fit it myself bearing in mind i'm not technically minded and don't have many tools.

2. How much would a garage charge labour to fit it for me?

oh, and do you have to remove the front bumber to replace it?

I removed mine, its a bit tight but it came out when I lifted the radiator a bit (had to remove top clip)the bumper stayed on. I fitted a small radiator and braided hoses, my throught being the orignal replacement would not last very long.

Had mine go a while ago, on my 04 Monaro, took it off to repair it as it was only a minor hole.

Fairly easy to remove, no need to take the bumper off although you will need to jack the front of car to give you room underneath.

Release radiator bolts inorder to raise it slightly to get pipe out.
Remove under engine splash guard (metal) and remove plastic lip spoiler.

Should then just be a case of disconnecting the hoses and removing the bolts for the pipe.

A couple of clamp fittings on the front through the grill and a P clip where the pipe goes past the radiator if I remember correctly.

Then just manouvere the pipe out through the gap at the bottom between radiator and bumper, raising the radiator slightly gives a little more room to get the open end of the pipe out.

Fitting is just the reverse.

Lasted a year before it split where it comes out next to radiator, had a new one fitted then.

Its not a hard job, But dont over tighten it in the steering rack.
It will have about 15 mins, but you will need to jack the drivers side up to get to the rack.

Do not think he will be tightening anything on the steering rack.

If like mine the cooler pipe just pushes into two flexible hoses and is secured with pipe clamps.

There's a plastic panel underneath between the front of the bumper and the radiator that is the width of the car held in with clips, when you remove it you get access into the space where the cooler sits and you can easily undo the mounting bolts and then drop it down. No need to move the rad well in my experience anyway.
