Oscar/Trophy delivered dog food, Dog food in general

Just wondering if anyone uses either of these companies services/goods and if so is the quality of the dog food any better than what you can purchase from Pets at Home for example.

Currently feeding our puppy Dogue de Bordeaux dry Royal Canin which does seem to be rather rich judging by some of the unpleasant odours that he sends our way from time to time. The trainer at obedience classes has stated that Pedigree is a good all round choice but I usually believe that you get what you pay for.

Any ideas on dog food in general?

Bakers Complete - the dried stuff. The only stuff my Beagle eats without any of the unpleasant 'vacate the building' aromas afterwards. Pets at Home do their own equivalent for half the price too - same stuff.

I use Sneyd's Wonderdog for my GSD. It's good value as I buy it from my local farm(£12 for 15kg), so not sure if it's readily available. It's for working dogs but I buy the resting mix, my dog seems to love it and her coat is healthy and she has the right amount of energy.

That's good value.

Roo is fed on Burns at £40 a 15kg bag.

Allegedly the dogs bo11ocks of the dried food world and it certainly keeps her healthy.

Our mutt eats Oscars. Relatively inoffensive when it comes back out. Fairly expensive, but it's delivered to your door, and they phone you up when they think you'll be getting low, so you never run out. Good service, but I suppose you pay for it!

we use Skinners which i believe sounds a bit more readily available than this.

about £15 for 15kg IIRC
again its for working dogs so it is advertised as VAT free

We have tried a few things and this stuff appears to be least offensive on the nose when they do drop their guts!!

Dunno how it prices compared with others but it's about £45 for a 15KG bag..

Sounds good might have to get some samples, interesting that nearly everyone feeds their dogs something different.

Didn't know there where also feeds designed just for working dogs, will have a look at them as well.

Disagree with the pedigree statement, it's a very rich food for dogs to eat constantly, can give them very bad guts.
Mine has a mixture of Iams for breakfast and butchers wet with veg in the evening, thing to keep in mind is that dogs are not carnivores, they are omnivores / scavengers by nature, therefore need a certain amount of veg matter in their diet to keep them healthy.
Basic rule keep their diet as simple and plain as possible with the occasional treat.

I am also of the view that Pedigree is poor quality as are most of the foods that you find in supermarkets.

We feed Skinner's field and trial and, as said about it's VAT free. We get outs from the local agricutural suppliers.

I've never tried ours on that - the woman who ran our training class reckoned it was the dog equivalent of Sunny Delight, and he's excitable enough at the best of times. All dogs are different, though, and it's obviously working fine for yours.

George had a mix of Science Plan wet food and Wainwright's (Pets at Home own brand, I think) dry biscuits up until a couple of months ago, when we switched him to Wainwright's wet food too.

I'm generally suspicious of 'own brand' stuff, so if anyone has any horror stories (or good stories, I guess) about Wainwright's then post them up.

Same as above here, it is a bit more expensive than pets-at-home and the like but it's delivered, and we help keep a local business going.
