I would anticipate it needing a complete strip down and re-build.

Great potential, but one for an enthusiast with deep pockets ?

Seconded. I'd be keen to ensure the engine was a genuine NCK and not just some ex-Landie lump; once these cars start getting this cheap you have to wonder what foul deeds might have been perpetrated.

Needs a roof; there's half a grand. Set of tyres, what, another half a G? How about the exhaust?

Been running LPG on my daily cars for the last 7 years. Best money saving thing i've done. Currently paying 47p per litre and get 90% of the performance of petrol.
Loads of stuff on running it on a RV8 and it's been around for the last 20 years that I can remember. The only problem i can see is siting the tank, with little boot space to start with you will have virtually none left. Did think about replacing one of the petrol tanks but even if this was possible it will probably only give you a capacity of around 30 litres. Cheers Steve

Bargin surely smile

Recorded mileage, it has no history, think a experian report can indicate of the mileage was recorded higher during previous MOTs if that helps

Generally though does mileage really matter? i could buy a brand new car, drain the oil, run it round the block a few hundred miles, then just before it siezes, stop the car, leave it a few years then sell it with 200 miles on the clock.

If it was mint then yes i do not disagree that provenace is inportant.

Come on buy it.

Regards Nick

Hello All,

Yes, seemed reasonable to me too . . so, nearly 20 years after being bewitched by the sound of a 400SE I've finally got one!

Now safely tucked away in the dry whilst I look for a suitable place to get to work. Some fettling is going to be in order!

All the best,
DW

I have to admit I'm in two minds about the LPG. Could be an interesting bit of kit to get working or it could be a riddle wrapped up in an enigma!

I think my only chances to make it to BBWF2010 would be go the route Stephen is suggesting and just do what's necessary to get back on the road. Otherwise it's complete stripdown and rebuild time. I can hear my wallet gently sobbing to itself already.

On the subject of the beginnings of a shopping list... Did you have any dash veneer sets left Stephen? Heater controls on the right.
