I have a 2008 Chilli red mini cooper and when i detail it i always do the following;

Wash by hand with AG Car wash.
Dry off the car.
AG ultra deep shine
AG high def wax
AG Super resin polish
AG extra gloss

But im just guessing that what im doing is right.. but never asked before..so any ideas or where am i going wrong.

Also i am going to use a claykit this weekend.

All help needed, thanks

I'd just use SRP followed by HD wax, after a wash and clay.

Always remember to use SRP BEFORE the HD wax. Otherwise you'll strip it off.

You're adding a lot of steps in rather than concentrating on basic process. A couple of coats of HD would do you nicely rather than fiddling with the extra sealant (HD is a hybrid wax/sealant anyway). Maybe do half the car the old way, and do a stripped down detail on the other half (including the clay stage) and see what you've gained with all the extra steps? Could be revealing. Less is more in this instance, I'd say. smile

Jesus Luke, you've more product than is called for.

Wash, dry, SRP (if for masking/polishing out light swirls, otherwise no need), EGP (needs 24 hours to cure fully before adding anything over it) - that should do it, but if you must, then HD wax, with 2-24 hours between layers.
Never did understand the point of UDS, or where it fits in, but I wouldn't bother with it if you've already done SRP and EGP.

So, quick recap:
wash
dry
SRP (if needed)
EGP (a semi-decent sealant)
HD (if you want)
UDS (put on a shelf where you'll forget about it for the next 3 years, or throw it in the bin)
CIDER/BEER!!
