Hey everyone,

Looking to get back into bikes and wanted a mountain bike. Ive been out the loop for a long time now and just wanted to get an idea of your thoughts on the below bike:

Just got the model up from this one, the Sport Disc. Comes with avid brakes instead of tektro. Still mech discs though. There is a few other upgrades aswell. Seems like the brakes alone make it worth the extra £50 I paid.

I'm really happy so far (only rode it twice) after a week of ownership. For the money, it's great. Feels like my £800 bike I had 5 years ago. Things have come along way!

you cant fault them, had a hardrock pro for a few years and was surprised withthe abuse it took. they are bloody heavy though and you notice it on the climbs!

With regard to the weight, it completely depends on what you are used to. As a new rider or ex-rider making a come back it could be fine.

Honestly, to me it feels pretty darn light. I know it isn't compared to higher spec (read; expensive) bikes but it shouldn't cause a massive problem. Then again, I have come from jump bikes a few years ago when I was younger and alot weaker.

It will be fine.

Have you looked at reduced 09 bikes?

I looked at the 09 bikes with potential and thought I wouldn't save enough to justify it. Prefer the look of the 2010 bikes aswell.

You won't go wrong with a hardrock.

Personally I'd get a lightly used rockhopper for that price but that wont suit you if you want a new bike.

Exactly what I have just got. I'm impressed so far. Which colour did you go for?
