Can anyone please help?
Ive recently stepped onto the tvr ladder and got an S1.
Am loving it, how did they get such a great noise from a capri engine!!
Can anyone tell me where to get a heater fan from or what its from?
Also what is a good colour for it? Hoping to get a re-spray in the spring, thinking of black so far.
Thanks.
Paul.

Hi Paul,

Welcome to PH !!..

I can't help with the heater apart from have you tried a local TVR garage ?..

As to colour I have just had my S resprayed to TVR Starmist Blue (and before anyone asks no I have no pictures yet!, hopefully will take some this weekend at the southampton - portsmouth PH meet). It looks fantastic in this colour, however I guess it depends on other things like colour of the interior.

My S was originally blue and all the interior carpets are blue, then for some reason it was resprayed racing green. I like green but it just did not go with the carpets ! hence why I have had it resprayed to starmist blue...

Thanks trev.
Mine is currently white and faded.
The interior is black, the bodywork needs some help as the previous owner had an argument with a lamp post!
Having a s/s exhaust fitted at the mo but dont think it could get any louder! the gf thinks i will upset the neighbours whenever i pull up!
Paul.

Paul,

Congratulations on the purchase, the noise does indeed put Capris (or Granadas) to shame!

Try the parts list or Steve Heath's bible, from the TVRCC office...

Hi Paul and welcome to the 'S' club.

Glad to hear you are enjoying the ownership experience. I too am relatively new and still deeply smitten!

I can't really help with the heater thing, other than to mention an 'S' parts list which is included on the TVRCC South Wales site I think. I'll post a link if I can find it.

edited to say: well done tripps, you beat me to it

As for colour, well it's entirely personal. You are in a fortunate position in having a black interior, as that will go with most exterior colours. My V8S is Cooper Green, and I think it looks gorgeous, especially after a good wax polish.... it gleams! All the darker metallics look good IMHO.
Black is a good colour and looks spectacular when shiny and clean. Keeping it clean though can prove a little difficult. It does show dirt! But then, each to their own!

Don't worry about upsetting the neighbours. My beastie is soooo loud when I start her up in the garage. I was really worried about this at first. Had one or two funny looks to start with, but that seems to have subsided now.

Continue to enjoy the car and let us know what you decide on colour (with piccies if possible).

Can't disagree with that after a dusk-light wash and polish session this afternoon - Cooper Green certainly looks the muts nuts on the S shape.

Welcome to the S club.

The sound oh the sound and the old 2.8 has a note of its own.

The heater fan is not very good and I an told needs the dash out to replace so I am not bothering.
On the S1 it doesn't warm your feet even when working so I wear thermal socks and sheepskin flying jacket when its dry and frosty and the hood is where it belongs - in the boot.
Let me know if you need any help I am in Nottingham.

Thank you all for your replies.
Dont see the point in the heater at the moment, i just know that once ive repaired it it will probably be around march.
Thanks for the idea bills1, will have to invest in a flying jacket (with white scarf).

Haven't got a copy infront of me right now, but from what I remember it's a very similar colour to mine (see my profile)!

Think its Brooklands Racing Green - (as mentioned in the Bible) - Mine is - but looks much darker than most BRG colours
