Without Googling it I think most people will say "Who?"Jessica Ennis
And you might as well mention Phillips Idowu, he also got Gold this year in the 2009 World Athletics Championships. Or Victoria Pendleton & Chris Hoy who both took World titles at the Cycling World Championships. Or Phil Taylor in darts or John Higgins in snooker etc...........

We don't want boring golfers or cricketers winning it do we?
nor do i want jenson button. hes a nice bloke and a worthy f1 champion but his achievements pale into insignificance alongside the likes of chrissie wellington and bradley wiggins....text

Cal Crutchlow !
'World' Supersport Champion at his first attempt and apart from Eugene Laverty, left the rest of the field in his wake in the tightest motorcyle formula there is . . .
Bradley Smith, 2nd in the 125GP World series this year. Only person to do this for Britain since Barry Sheene !
For a General Motorsport forum this really should be called the F1 and some other stuff maybe forum

If there was any justice, it would be the triathlete Chrissie Wellington. Turned pro start of 2007, after not doing much in the way of big distances and by the end of the year was women's Ironman champion - absolutely unprecedented for someone to do that in their first year of IM distance. She won it again in 2008, and again this year - beating a course record that's stood since 1992.
It'll probably be Jenson though.

Or Rob Armistead, Champion driver in 950 kg modified tractors class of the Eurocup Tractor Pulling Championships.

I take it that's Brian's son.
Though Brian never made it to Sports Personality Of The Year even when he won the European Championship on numerous occasions (9 times in 10 years between 1990 and 2000!)
Brian actually has a personality, something that - if Jenson has one - will be surgically removed when he moves to McLaren.
Personally I'd recommend Ellen Whitaker for Sports

Why should Jenson Button win it? Whats so special about his achievement!!
Quite right! It's a piece of piss to win the F1 WDC and happens all the time

Not to a Brit though. If he does not win ,it wont be anything to do with Jenson - it will just show how much the country really cares about F1.
