What do you reckon, Ive sorced a set of both to replace 18s, but which to go for???
I love the polished 19s but will be big hassle when curbed to repair...

I've decided to keep my standard 19s and get them refurbed. They will be a PITA to keep looking good, but I reckon they look better on the standard coupe than the CSL wheels.

Unless you lower the car, it will look like it's sitting too high on CSLs.

I think it looks higher on the standard 19s than the CSLs!

Actually, thinking about it some more, I'd say it is colour dependant. CSLs look good on carbon black and whatevr the darker blue is, but the standard 19s better on grey, silver, imola red and estoril blue. Probably.

Yeah I agree with the car colour issue, but cant afford real CSL, 19 twins have a bad reputation it seems for laquer issues, I had thought about gloss black powder coat on twin spokes, easy to touch in minor skuffs.
I had black cups on my last 911, looked the part.
The M3 is tit silver so black would be ok I guess...what about black CSLs......

I dont know!!!!!!!!

I put the CSLs on my Carbon Black to replace knackered twin 19's. Mainly because of cost (buying the CSL reps or refurbing at Lepsons £350 ish i think?). CSL's did look good, but looking back i did prefer the 19's and that's without seeing them in pristine condition.

Car definitely 'appeared' to sit higher too. People seemed bothered that i didn't have the originals come selling time too.

Any one got a pic side by side like the ones above.

Thought I better get rid of the GT3 name (till someone gives me a 997RS)

I use my CSL's in the winter because if they do get kerbed or damaged they can be more easily repaired/repainted than my standard double spoke 19's. Additionally, my 19's are mint and undamaged, and salt can play havoc with them if the lacquer gets chipped and salty water ingresses. If I had to choose between the two, I'd probably say the CSL's are just ahead in the "favourite" stakes!

Mine............
