Free cardboard boxes...

Mods, hope this is OK - not advertising as I am giving them away!

I have quite a lot of decent cardboard boxes sitting in my garage after doing some clearing out. They're not regular sizes or anything, the sort of stuff that smallish bits of furniture come in. Lots of other ones that are collapsed and just sheet corrugated cardboard, and loads of polystyrene.

I was going to take the lot to the tip but it'll take a few trips in the car and it seems rather wasteful.

Just thought if anybody is moving house or has a use for them they could have some of them?

Hehe! Already have enough boxes for a box fort! I would rather get the car in the garage to be honest

I am subbed to the local freecycle group but TBH I don't really fancy randoms coming round and having a look round my gaff & in the garage IYKWIM...

I'd freecycle them. Agree a collection time and move them outside. You only give your address to the person you choose to give them to.

I love freecycle, we cleared out so much crap using it when we moved.

I've also got a load of boxes I used to move house. Some of the boxes, I didn't use at all, I ordered far too many. All of them are in good nick (I chucked a couple of damaged ones away).

Whilst I don't usually have much good to say about local councils, mine does a waste paper collection once a week - ideal for copious quantities of cardboard!

I'm not sure ours would take anything not in the box - they don't even take tht some weeks! I don't mind binning it, just seems a waste...

Don't start me on that...our Council don't evan take cardboard as part of their kerbside recycling. We're supposed to put it in the tiny bleeding bin they supply us with.

They suggest we drop it off at a recycling centre next time we are passing - that's over 10 miles in either direction

We just burn ours - I did notice that the village mag that came round from the District Council the other day noted an increase in complaints about bonfires - that'll be us then

Bromley Council collects cardboard in the fortnightly recycling collections - our next one in Murray Avenue is tomorrow. Only problem is that its going to rain and reduce the whole lot to a soggy mess again................

Pretty random but do you have one you think might fit a parcel shelf?? Thinking a box from an Organ or summat?

I probably have something of that size but I doubt it would take any weight - it's just normal corrugated cardboard and I don't think it would hold its shape...
