Been through a 6k and a 12k service without notice, but this light is always on. I thought it was supposed to come on from 7k onwards, to tell you when you needed to change up a gear ? Any one had this at all ?

Its the battery light, it has a dual purpose as a rev limit light, accompanied by the ignition beep

is it possible that its a problem with the alternator or battery rather than the rev counter, maybe a lose or dirty connection. if the battery light was on in my car the first thing i would check is what sort of charge is coming of the alternator

Hi all,

According to page 12 of the handbook. Section 9. Tachometer (Rev counter).

"At the bottom of this dial,a red light will illuminate to indicate the need to change up to the next appropriate gear".

I could be missing some fundamental here in which case... getmecoat

Sounds like the big fuse or your alternator on the way out!

Hi Andy\Gazzab

Well I can honestly say no I haven't checked either of those things, but I have had the car since May 07 and as far as I know it's always been illuminated, and that's going through two services as well with an ok from Matt. No probs with battery apart from the usual drain in the cold weather. Just wondering whether it would effect anything else from an ECU point of view. My second gear still seems almost next to useless and strained when launching it and I thought there may be a correlation between the two, but maybe not. Perhaps that's just normal for all Cerbs.

That doesn't sound good!

What do you mean next to useless and strained?

Marcus - useless in that it doesn't feel like it wants to go beyond 4k in 2nd and would do damage if it did and doesn't really propel the vehicle as what I would expect of a light 350hp car. I've no complaints with what you can get out of it in 4th and 5th and think it a fantastic car. But it's an area of the performance that has frustrated me with it for a while, which is why I thought this light business may be related to it.

Andy - Ok ta, will do. I'll give you a bell.
