Tell them.
If you don't, then you're paying your premium for the privilege of not being insured.
If you reckon it's worth losing your house over a 50 quid preimuim increase, you're a fool.
Tell then. Pay the premium.
how would he loose his house? his car and its value maybe but modifications and an increase in power will not void the third party part of his cover. If you don't, then you're paying your premium for the privilege of not being insured.

The insurers WILL pay out to the third party (who may, for example be a breadwinner of a family who can no longer work because of his injuries - let's assume he gets half a million quid for lost earnings and healthcare).
THEY WILL THEN RECOVER THIS MONEY FROM THE POLICYHOLDER.
Do you seriously think that the insurers will cheerfully pay out and say "oh well nevermind eh?" in a case like this? Really? NO, THEY WON'T. They will get their moneyOnce they have got judgment against the policyholder the result will be bankruptcy and the sale of the house, and all other assets. I've seen this happen. The policty holder's family ended up living in a council flat in a rough part of town. Quite a come down for them from their comfortable middle class life. Kids out of private school as there was no money for fees and into the local rough comprehensive where they had a very bad time of it etc etc.
DECLARE MODS. ALL OF THEM. WITHOUT FAIL. DO NOT GIVE THE INSURERS AN EXCUSE TO NOT PAY.
All these kn08heads who drive round thinking they're so clever with their modified and undeclared cars are running this risk. If you crash, and they find out, they WILL get the money off you in the end and if that means you lose your house then that's just tough.

Aside from the lecturing you are only looking at about £50-100 a year increase, my Skoda Superb was £30 extra for the remap, plus most online quotations now allow you to check the engine remap box, I always went for the highest power available to try and cover my self, but if you are unsure you should phone the insurance company.
