Right so the Mg's had the v8 in it for a while now, bled all the brakes the other day and drove it for the first time (albeit about 30ft) and it mooved and worked yay!! thumbup

However there is a pipe on the brake servo unit about 10mm id (the vacuum pipe i believe) that needs to hook upto the engine. Where do i connect this to on the v8, there is no where obvious like on the old mg 1800 motor, thanks

Normally to the driver's side of the plenum... there's three tapped holes on most of them. On my one (Tiv), there's the vac line to the servo, one to the carbon can, and the other is blanked. On the opposite side there is another inlet for the breather/PCV gubbins

Make sure you hook up to a one way valve connection. As said above, on the efi plenum look for a connection on the drivers side of the plenum. If it's a carbed engine look for a connection below the throttle assembly. It may be at the back of the manifold and may have a blanking plug over it otherwise you must have a hell of an air leak and high tickover.

Are you carb or efi?

Twin SU's? - There's a hole in the manifold for the vac takeoff behind the carbs (i.e. between the carbs and bulkhead)

It sort of looks like this where the pipe terminates near the inlet runner (photo shows the MG "trouser" manifold, not the normal SU manifold)
