Sadly, after 4 years of virtually trouble free ownership of my S6 Cerbera it has gone to another owner (exported to Germany) Must say it was a fantastic car but more importantly it made me loads of new TVR friends. So to anyone thinking of buying a Speed 6, dont get to put off by people on here who always slate it because there is one very satisfied customer here. The only reason for changing was for a convertable with a hardtop that TVR didn't make.

Since you've had a good experience the SP6, I thought the Tuscan would have been an obvious choice...

Careful - he might say yes smile

In all seriousness it would be interesting to know how it compares to the Cerb.

How can you compare them? Mercedes spends 10 billion Euros a year (thats Billion, not million!) on Research and Development.
We drive a car that didn't even have .01% of that spent on it! An AMG is an infinitely superior car in terms of engineering and build quality. However in terms of Charisma, feel good factor, and smile-on-face abilities per buck....well what else can compare with it biggrin

He can always come in with me on trips out if he wants his TVR fix.

Have you owned a merc ? I have had two and the 'perceived' quality is great (ie they engineer a feel of quality into the car). The actual quality is not quite as great - rust is a massive prob (particularly from 98 - 2002 ish) and electrical gremlins are a prob.

No, but driven plenty - I think you know the (reasonably light hearted) point I'm trying to make though. There is no way a Cerb can be called a quality, well made car when comparing it to the likes of Merc's, BMW's (even Honda's and Toyotas). I love the car for what it is, despite it's faults biggrin.

Gareth, your Cerb is now living in the city of Hamburg/Germany. Drove the car home without any problems. Great car!

Wow - I didn't know it was going to a fellow PHer. That's made me feel so much better that it will be going to a good home. If you need any questions answered please feel free to PM me. In fact, since it went I have found the Parrot handbook which you may need. If you need it PM me your address and I'll send it to you.

Hope you enjoy the car, it really has been great for me but I missed a convertible and felt the time was right.

Oh and whoever made the reference that the AMG SLK is a haidressers car, have you actually driven one?

Al, Gaz is spot on though, My E Class rusted beyond belief, the electrics were 'worse' than the Cerb (well almost) and the customer disservice was farcical. Other than the fact it was a 7 seater and NOT an MPV I had little choice at the time. Must say though the best bit was when we would collect the Merc from the dealers I would make it a point to take the Cerb and let Mrs C drive 'Adolf'.

Well I've booked my hair in with MadeinEngland, opp's sorry ride in the car with him. I know where he is coming from with getting the Merc and can't fault him, I will be doing the same when/if TVRs fade out but at the moment I can't see that happening, I'm going to save myself for something like that but I will probably be too old to drive by then.
When I take my other car in for a service at the Merc dealers I too go in the Cerb and my mother in the other car, the Cerb does go down well with them down there and I get quite a few admiring comments.
MadeinEngland will still be joining us in the TVRCC because he has made so many friends and he can still get his TVR fix, only thing is he will just have to remember what it was like to drive one. I am just hopeing too many don't go the same way unless they keep the TVR and get something like the Merc as an addition.

Kev - The SLK has a nice airscarf that will blow dry your hair while you're driving so you can arrive all neat and tidy. Yes - I'm still coming to the meets and the drives, I'll just stay at the back all nice and quiet like, until I find out how to make the exhaust a bit louder :-)
