Wish this weather would get better, as waited years for a cerb, got one and can't drive the bloody thing in this horrendous weather..... Why can't it be nice one weekend as not used it for a few weeks!

Anyway, will run it up to temp in the garage later to at least get the oil flowing etc..

Surely I am not the only one who is frustrated?

You can look at it two ways. I went walking for 13 miles in the snow yesterday (over 2" deep) and it was brilliant and thought today (Sunday) that I would get the TVR out but only to wake up with a river coming down our road. Never mind, at least I got one good day out of the weekend and hope to get the Cerb out very soon.

I know, I could see it out of the window of the Cerb when I went for a 2 hour blast round Derbyshire on Saturday afternoon wink

Even managed to meet up with prospective Cerb owner Bob and take him for a quick blast up and down Baslow hill. Don't spare the horses, James, tally-ho!!

No worries Bob, I'm sure that the finger indentations in the dash will hardly be noticable after a while wink

Gazzab - the ride with Bob was down to the Baslow roundabout and back up the hill to Sheffield, but I did pass through the lights at Calver heading up towards Hassop earlier that afternoon ??

Why - how close to that are you?

Close enough to hear a cerb !
I live up the top of the hill in Curbar - so not that far. If you came down the hill to Calver lights (between Curbar and Frogatt) then you were getting close. I am actually near Curbar Gap.

Harry, I feel your pain.

My 530 popped its radiator on Monday, so I worked from home.
Tuesday I got a lift as the weather was horrible.
Today I thought I'd use the TVR as relying on lifts is not really the done thing, so I opened the garage after 2 weeks of leaving the car in the dry and nothing. Normally this isn't a problem as I have one of those red top batteries that just never seems to go flat, I could feel my wallet pushing back in my pocket...

Anyway I tried to jump start it, but no joy. I then realiesd that one of the interior lights was on... 2 weeks of interior light = totally flat battery. I let my daughter play in the car whilst I was washing it and she must have switched the light on (I normally have them all switched off).

Lesson learned. ALWAYS check the interior light switches, or better still use the car more.

Totally my fault, can't blame the car which has only let me down when I have failed to do something. I feel a right doofus having driven to work in a borrowed diesel Polo with a broken radio.

Battery out when I get home and on trickle charge for a couple of days, hopefully it will recover and I won't need to shell out another £150.

To be honest it had been there a few weeks, but didn't attract my attention at first, mainly because it was over my budget, but also because in my opinion the photos really didn't do it justice. Once i'd reconcilled myself to spending more than i initially intended and actually went to see it, it became a bit of a no-brainer. It's due on the 15th so i'll see you en-route to the meet, i'm in S18
