Hello all,

I'm going to buy another car in the next few months. I've always wanted a MK4 Golf Anniversary or an S4 B5 shape. But for 6k, you could also get an S3. I'm not too sure what to get. The anniversary would be newer(2002/2003) and have less miles(between 60-80k) than the S4(1999-2001 with about 100k) but the S4 is a.... S4! lol!

Then there's the S3. Could get one as a compromise between the two(with 80k about 2001). But, this may sound silly to most of you, i actually prefer the look of the anniversary.

I know it's all down to personal taste, but there's nothing wrong with a bit of banter.

Cheers all.

Tame, i always wanted one till i worked for Seat and for some reason i don't one any more. There was never anything i didn't like about them but something got taken away by working on them. Plus, now working for Audi, the quality of the trim is so different to either VW/Audi as i'm sure you'll know.

blueg33, i'd love a nice A6 Le Mann 3.0 tdi. But i'm not in a position where i could afford replacing all tyres at £300 a corner! lol!

I managed to do all 4 corners this year for £600 fitted, it would have been £500 bought online.

Maybe Wait til you worked on Audi's a bit longer.......

TT and S3, you only going to get a nasty one for that money.

Not sure how much an A4 1.8T is, some one on here wanted one the other day,

I could probably live with one on those, if it was 6 speed and quatro.

But I would FIT A MECHNICAL OIL PRESSURE GAUGE.

Mrs BlueG33 has a Leon Cupra, that seems pretty good value! Its quick, relatively reliable and with a couple of hours work it doesnt leak either.

there are loads of s3`s about at that money and i like them personally, but then you could get an impreza for that too which is just better in every way bar the interior.

There's only one obvious solution to this little conundrum, Corrado VR6 and the change goes on a daily snotter.

Surely you'll end up loosing intrest in Audi's if you're working on them?

Passat W8! lol! I have always kept my eyes open for them on the second hand market and they're pretty cheap too. But it'll be guzzling fuel like no ones business. Which is the same as the Corrado VR6 and 4motion, i have them in mind for a while but i really do prefer the look of the anniversary.

There are a lot of dogs when looking for S3s! Which is kind of putting me off them, I know it'll need a list of things like ARB's, wishbone bushes, alarm horn etc. Which is most likely to be the same with the S4 too - just going to cost loads to get into shape but won't really affect the value of the car.

The Cupra's are a good idea, i've always liked the platinum grey ones. But again, i think the Anniversary with it's BBS's look that little bit smarter.

True, it'll need a huge fuel tanker to follow it. However, nobody under the age of 60 will have bought one, so they'll have been meticulously maintained with no expense spared, and they won't have been thrashed either. Pull the W8 badges off, and you have the perfect Q car.

In all fairness, it won't be that much heavier on fuel than any of the S/RS/Cupra R/R32 VAG products.
