a3 drivers door symbol on dash

drivers door symbol on the dash stays on most times, sometimes will light up ok then go off! cant see a switch on the door jam to change, but seams to be staying on more than go off now! and yes, all the doors and boot are closed! getting bloody anoying!!! any ideas? car is an 02 plate a2 tdi
