A polite bit of advice Scooby - usual 'netiquette' is that you really ought to try to help yourself first by either looking at the help menus or googling, then ask if you cant find the answer. I found this in hotmail help pages in about 2 seconds:

If you use Outlook 2002 or 2003, you can set up a separate Inbox for your Hotmail account within Outlook. This option is only available for Microsoft Windows operating systems.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In Outlook, click the Tools menu, and then click E-mail Accounts.
Click Add a new e-mail account, and then click Next.
Click HTTP, and then click Next.
Type the required information, and then make sure Hotmail is selected as the HTTP Mail Service Provider.
If you do not select the Remember password check box, you will be asked to enter your password in step 5 below. To help protect your privacy, do not select the Remember password check box unless you are the only person with access to the program.
Do not select the Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) check box.
Click Next.
Click Finish.
Note

After you set up your Hotmail account in Outlook, your Hotmail folders appear in the Outlook folder list.

jam1et - didn't you ask what an 'ou' was earlier this week stones, glass houses etc.
As Pistonheads is a motoring site I guess people usually tolerate 'non-IT person' questions more readily than computer related sites. I always use Outlook Express for retrieving Hotmail email - it'll probably be quicker on an older PC too..

Touble is netuquette has arisen from USENET, and that's a style we want to remain well away from IMO.

Admitedly, you may have a point there.
But I did try and make the point politely...no offence intended.
Anyway, moving on....
