Video of wet lap taken with Canon G9. I'm not sure the camera will last long with running the kerbs but hopefully gearbox will not cost to much to repair as it stuck in 4th gear and had to leave early.

footage looks good - nice and clear and vibration free.. Why don't you think your camera will last long?

i was at bedford a few weeks ago with a new panasonic sd10 camcorder and whilst the footage was very clear it suffered from the rolling shutter effect if anyone knows what that means (to do with the CMOS sensor apparently??). I sent it back to Amazon for a refund so on the lookout for a new one

Is that an E36m3 evo your in? - sounds nice!

Its the non evo 3.0 E36. Its meant to have a stronger box but it broke about 20 mind after the footage.

ETA Read somewhere on the forums here that the cameras don't like such abuse but will wait and see. Will be getting this

Sorry to hear about your g'box - hope it's nothing too serious..

I just checked out that website and gave them a phone.. Very helpful nice chap on phone;)

Was your cannon expensive if you don't mind me asking?

Here's a clip from the Panasonic SD10 - you'll see it's not very steady. Also it sounds like my discs are completely hammered (they are but not as bad as it sounds!). BTW my old sony digi 8 camcorder was fine using this setup..

G9 can be picked up for a couple of hundred quid. I think the mount is more important than the camera. I am using this one



and it is increadably well built.

Gearbox is fked. Having one from a breaker fitted and uprating the clutch at the same time as that is knackered too
