Anyone know anything about the autobox on this particular Frog box?
The oil is blacker than the inside of a really black place on a moonless night!
Obviously the plan is to change it, but the other problem is the noise!
Sounds like a power steering pump on full lock, all whiney.
Anyway, the car drives normally for 2 or 3 miles, then the warning lamp comes on, the warning screams (like a French man requiring his comrades to shut down the ports) and the box goes into 23rd gear...unusual in that there are in fact, only 4 gears!
Ign off, re start and once again we have gears.
Four fault codes of some description, but unknown due to the ECU (gearbox ECU) refusing to communicate with anything other than the Clip computer!
So, a Renault specialist with an idea of how to re-set the ECU once I have replaced the oil in the box & torque converter and checked inside the sump for foreign bodies (perhaps Jean Claude.....).
