Where did you get that price though? As I just paid £699 from John Lewis, and I could rape them with the undersell.

As with all things like this, there'll always be a slightly better one for slightly more, but you just have to draw your line in the budgetary sand. For £580 I'm more than pleased with mine, put it that way!

I think Currys had it up for £799 and I ended up paying about £580-ish after a bit of negotiating I think. Richer did have it in stock within 10 miles of the Currys branch. Not sure what JL's price-match policy is, but certainly worth investigating.

looking at other sites this one seems like a good all round option.
42 Panasonic TXP42X10B Viera HD Ready Digital Freeview Plasma TV £519
Also, after some research, it would seem that 1080p isn't really worth it. Seems very much as though its a marketing exercise with the aim of getting people to upgrade.

Don't just think about now, think about 3-4 years' time.. If you're buying a screen now, you'd be mad not to go full 1080p for an extra £70.42 Panasonic TXP42X10B Viera HD Ready Digital Freeview Plasma TV £519
