Strangest thing you've found in your food?
Discussion
I went to a reasonably nice restaurant a couple of weeks ago, and had a main course with a selection of grilled meats. Basically a posh mixed grill.
I was tucking into one of the steaks (I think it was goose), and almost shattered a tooth on a shotgun pellet! I mentioned it to the maitre d' and he kindly removed my main course from the bill. Mentioned something about shooting their own goose in the fields around the back.
I also found a caterpillar in my salad once.
What oddities have PH'ers found?

Shot is quite common in game. Bit lax of the chef not to have made absolutely sure!
My wife found a slug in a burger in TGI Fridays in Glasgow once. I'm never going back (to Glasgow that is.)
Years back, my ex girlfriends sister (a liberal, right-on, vegetarian
of a woman) reckoned she found some beef in a "quorn" lasagne that I had made for them all coming round for dinner. Oops. Of course, I denied it...

could've been worse, you might have been serving beef fillet stuffed with bacon cheese and peppers and then realised the chap tucking in opposite is muslim...

Had to eat the rest of the sandwich though as I was starving and it was the only place open at the Motorway services.
When I was a kid I found a bit of peanut in my KitKat. Having heard tales at school of people being given "hundreds of pounds" for finding foreign articles in their food, I packed it up, and sent it off to the KitKat people. A couple of weeks later I got a letter back saying they were sure the peanut must have got in there after it was made as they don't do nuts in their factory (despite the fact it was buried in the chocolate) and I got a 50p off voucher for a multipack of KitKats. b

Shot in game is pretty normal...i meany the poor bird gets peppered with the stuff, and you would have to shred the meat to tear it apart! just shows its properly wild
