anyone ever been?

I had the interesting "pleasure" of attending this place as a visitor, as part of something happening with friends who are regulars.

I'm not stating any preferences one way or the other but must say it was an impressive set up. But, being brought up a Roman Catholic it made me very uncomfortable and I would not go back to be honest. I'm not super religous or anything but do go to church when I can.

Just wondering what peoples thoughts and experiences were of this place????

I don't have a clue what it is to be honest. Though I'm not even religious so that may not be a suprise.

I am however interested in religion and like to know about these things, what on earth is it?

Never heard of it, to be honest.

What's the USP of their imaginary friend?

I used to do their printing a long time ago but I think I lost out to a member of the congregation. Fair enough. It wasn't enough work for me to suddenly find religion...!
They were always very pleasant to deal with.

Ahhh, so it's another 'Jesus' church.

I was kind of hoping that they might have believed in the abundancy of life throught the universe or something equally interesting.

Neigh bother.

You'll have an insight into their slick presentation then.

It was very strange. A modern building tucked away behind a not so modern building, tucked awy in a rather run down part of Bradford.

You go in and it's 600 odd people singing away, full band, massive projection screens, a full mixing desk and editing suite, cameramen, floor manager and crew. Even a live outside broadcast to a roving reporter!

Mental. Impressive, but mental.

It's Christian based and my experience of the place was just this one service so I don't want to upset anyone with an ignorant take on the thing. I won't be going back though, to full on for me. I'm happier being miserable and made to feel guilty/bored sat in the back of an RC church, in the cold and damp, next to an old lady that smells of wee smile

I've been on two occasions in the past, for no other reason than its nickname of 'Abundant Wife Church'. I can confirm that it was full of fitties but all seemed a little stuck up and oblivious.

To echo what has been previously said, it is indeed a very impressive setup and I was overwhelmed by what they are doing. Apparently they give a huge amount to the local community, including Christmas presents to all underpriveleged kids. But I felt the whole experience was a little too much about entertainment rather than content...

They have a huge attendance, can only conclude it takes all sorts and everyone has a different requirement... I personally prefer my local Methodist :-)

Have been to a conference there and must say i enjoyed it. Usually attend a Pentecostal church on a Sunday, so used to the whole 'happy-clapper' thing.

I'd say it's and excellent example of a 21st century church.

Similar to Abundant Life is the 'Vineyard' churches. My local one, Trent, has a licensed bar! Very 21st century.
