Is there any mod that 'updates' or improves the Chim handling in any way?

If you do a search you'll find loads on this.

One that springs to mind is new shocks and springs. Adjustable shocks are good. You can harden them right up for track days etc and soften them for normal road use.

The previous owner put adjustables on my car, they're cool!

Bushes in GWO & 4 wheels pointing in correct ways made most difference for me. It seems the bushes closest to the exhaust perish quickest.

Get the wheels aligned - makes a big difference when they all point in the same direction. Didn't realize how big a difference it would make until Racing Green got their lasers out.

Try replacing your bushes with poly ones. This made a big difference to my car. Start on the front first as this is where it makes the most difference.
