I know this an age old thread on tyres but i need advice.
Bridgestones So3 has anyone recently changed to them from So2 if so whats the verdict, and do they look much bulkier from a side view compared to So2.

Anyone know if Goodyear F1 gsd3 is available in 225/50/15 zr yet.

Or does anyone know off two SO2 245/45/16 Zr available
i can get two fronts ok but need two back tyres.

Many Thanks

Not recently - I must be on my second or third SO3s.

I think, in summary, the message is that SO3s, because of the stiffer sidewall, diplay different characteristics which some people will love and some hate. Personally I find the feedback great and they are nice and progressive (a bit of wheelspin out of the tyre place last month was dramatic but after 70-80 miles they started to perform nicely!)

They are not so suited to 17" and 18" wheels though - that's why the move by TVR to Toyos.

Right i understand now why Tvr dont fit them anymore, for the the bigger rim reason.

Do they look bulkier than So2

Not in my experience - look pretty meaty from a cat's eye view but seem quite normal given a sideways glance!

There's a thread on either the Tamora or Tuscan forums that states TVR are now fitting Eagle F1's

Got them on my Supra and they are good.

SO3's on the Chimaera as I couldn't get any SO2's, also saw on a web site of SO2's disentegrating on some cars in Australia.

What do you expect if you fit them the wrong way up?

I've got S02's at the moment and am intrigued as to what to get when they run out, do they still make these or is it just S03's now??? it would seem logical.

Also i have had yokohamas before on other cars and these have been excellent in the dry and on track....anyone tried them on a chim??

having read all the threads and history on here, and talked to as many people as I could, I will be fitting Toyos shortly...... I have Eagle F1 fitted to my normal car, but you can't get the same pattern, be it gsd2 or gsd3 for both the front and back.... so Toyo it is for me....

I got SO2 PPs fitted at the start of January. Fronts harder to find now than the backs. Black Circles eventually found one, not cheap though. Get the rears elsewhere, a tyre shop in Ledbury can get them for £90 for example. Much better than the SO3 they replaced.

Just had a set of SO3s fitted to my Chimaera on saturday -205/55/15 and 245/45/16 (5L wheels)at Protyre in Bristol. Was advised to fit them by Peninsula over any other make due to the stiffer side walls for the large-ish profile tyres. Toyos etc are good for the new TVRs running 18's with very low profiles. - had SO3s on the rear and SO2s up front before will see how these perform
