Sound Recording

Hi

I run a company called Media Mill that produces sound for video games. We're working on a racing game called 'Split Second' and are recording some cars on the 11th of December (a week on Friday) at a venue in Warwickshire. We're after one of these (the owner of this fine machine can't make it on the day):

You need a Cerbera 4.5 with sport decatted now that is a proper sound track??

Sounds interesting. The guys making the game are being quite particular about what we use on this session but I'd love them to hear your car - do you have any video clips / Youtube material?

Any Speed 6 car can make the same noise depending on the exhaust system surly? To be honest, you could get a Tuscan/Tamora/Sagaris or Speed 6 Cerbera to mimic the sound of a T350 but where the sound will differ is to what exhaust system the car is using.

Does it have to sound like it did out the factory? or decat, sports exhaust ect?

There's no problem with it sounding different, although it would be good if there was a video clip / Youtube link that I could forward to the game developers. They just want something meaty sounding (which is generally a given with TVRs, is it not?). If anyone can make Kenilworth on the 11th, get in touch: [e-mail] or on here.

Did I mention that you'd get a power reading at the same time - actually, a nice little graph of bhp and torque. We did a Jag XKR recently (nice little convertable, great for the bank manager's wife) that put out 482 bhp at the wheels!

Straight-through and de-catted - it doesn't get any more hardcore or louder so ear plugs advisable. Had a JP system and have heard most others and to be honest they sound a bit weedy by comparison.

The only problem is that this is probably the last session we're going to do for this game. I'd love to keep your details on file though - we work for lots of different developers.

Couple of good vids on my profile but none of them sound like my current car. I'll do a vid this weekend of it pulling away in to the distance. I promise it will be worth considering.

I've a T350 with JP exhaust which sounds fantastic. Trouble is I also can't do the 11th. Happy for you to file my details though in case you need one again in the future.

BTW - Have you posted this in the Tuscan forum as they sound similar.

I think you perhaps need to focus more on the sound you're after. Your original request was to replace a T350 which has the SP6 engine - pwd95's V8 wedge will sound glorious but very different.
