I need to book the next service and am considering an independant. I have never had a problem with the main Agent (Stratstones Wilmslow) but I just fancy a change, any suggestions?

Is the 965 a 965 Turbo 2? If so the best person has got to be Ninemeister, I know Cheshire is not really the Northwest but I'd say he's the best person for your car.

If you don't want to travel I'd say Hartech, they have been looking after my 944S2 for over 3 years now. They are friendly , knowledgable, and not too expensive. I'm just not sure how good they are with 965's. Give them a call and ask for Barry or Grant.

Thanks I will give both of them a call. Why is Cheshire not in the northwest then?

Well, I consider Warrington to be North West....

Currently we have 5 service ramp, 4 wheel alignment, full Bosch diagnostic facilities, Bosch 2wd dyno, 2 x Celette body jigs & new Dalby paint booth in 10,000 sqft of workshop space, so in actual fact we are better equipped than Stratstones who sub out their bodywork!

Please accept our open invitation for anyone to drop in anytime (except weekends) to look around and check out our facilities and standards for themselves, we are Porsche specific but we will always do work on other vehicles if we can, like power tests and 4 wheel alignment.

I was only trying to inject a bit of humour Sorry but it was partly a geographical question. Thanks again anyway.

Actually Andy, Warrington used to be in Lancashire and was moved into Cheshire sometime in the 70's from memory, so we are more NW than meets the eye.

Anyway, must go, gorra tek mi wippet for a walk.

Hartech are very good, and have treated me well....

in fact, 2moro, my 968 is being towed up there to be fixed..... all labour costs paid for as a part of my warrantee, which is a big relief......

anyhow, i will tell u what happens, which may colour my future reports!

ok so last week 968 clutch decided to die.... i suppose these things can happen.....

so car was towed to Hartech, in Bolton by the AA. They have replaced clutch and are going to do a full service on the car, all for £350 inc VAT.... not bad, if I may say so....

phew thank god I got their maintenance plan....

but seriously, I can't recommend them more to people who want to buy a used Porsche, particularly in the NW of England (Naawwwverrnnn Maaaaankkkkeyyys!)

I'll third the recommendation for Hartech, although in true BBC tradition, other independant Porsche specialists are available. They serviced my 944 and were very helpful when I originally bought it.
