Never been, but need a recommendation for a decent restaurant not a million miles from Chipping Campden.

I hosted a table of 6 at Russells at Broadway Friday night - top meal great staff. Hightly recommended. Guests raved about it.

Only downside is lack of proper sit down bar area if you fancy a sit down before/after - but would not stop me going there again.

Russells in Broadway is good, as is Buckland Manor Hotel near Broadway, Lygon Arms if you are wealthy, Dormy House hotel just outside Broadway (had my 40th birthday there), Marsh Goose at Moreton in Marsh

The Kingham Plough at Kingham. Very relaxed and informal. Food excellent; all local produce where necessary. Cooked to order. Have been twice and very good both times.

.....What they mean is.... fried crayfish in soy sauce with roasted goats nuts and an onion bhaji. With brown bread.

Can recommend the Howard Arms at Ilmington. It's more of a gastro-pub, serving very good food. Only 15mins from CC, so possibly close enough for a taxi, or they have rooms.

Can also second Russell's in Broadway, that's a lovely restaurant.

I can highly recommend the Horse and Groom in Bourton on the Hill. Very close to Chipping Campden and a lovely village as well. Staff at the Horse and Groom are very friendly and the serve a great variety of bitters if you like beer. Food is spectacular.

Indeed it does - that's where I'm staying, but their formal restaurant isn't open 27/28 Dec.

I agree, had a lovely meal there a couple of months ago.

Lower Brook House was also pretty good, nice little hotel and good food.
