Is it possible? I've been trying for a while and they just won't do it.

2000 can't find logon servers
NT4 can't find domain controller.

I'm assuming it's a DNS thing, but have no idea what each needs to talk to the other.

Doh. Trusts between the 2 can be somewhat tricky.
However, from you comments:

1) DNS doesn't figure, at all.
2) NetBIOS name resolution is used - it'll look for a record for the PDC <1B> for each domain. Even when creating a one way trust, both DC's must be able to resolve both domains.
3) If/when you upgrade the NT domain, the trust isn't upgraded - you need to delete the external (old) trusts.

Yeah, DNS is only for 2000 trusts.

It's all working fine now. My stripe w/parity disk set is, however not going so well.

Stripe with parity - using software? Should be pretty straight forward (he says!) what's the problem?

Using software. 3x 9gb disks in an external box.

Gets all the way to the end of initialising and comes up as disabled in disk manager (nt4) and event log shows a synchronisation failure.

Suspected a dodgy disk, but have created separate volumes on all three and all seems well.

Hmmm, interesting! How about creating a mirror on disk 1+2, then on 2+3 to identify the dodgy disk?
