ML gearbox problem

Hi, i have an issue with the gearbox. When its put into drive it won't change gear and revs yo 4500 rpm. I knock the engine the off and turn it back on again, its fine.

Anyone had any problems like this?

Yes I have the same problem with my SLK55 AMG, its in next week at Mercedes for a check up. I'll post the outcome.

Have heard on the internet of valve and circlips needing renewing... No idea what that is but it's under warranty.

What age of ML?

Sounds like the electrics pack in the gearbox from what you are saying, I would need to read fault codes on star machine to understand more

Its the valve gear in the bottom of the gearbox, part costs around £1000 retail plus 4 hours labour to fit. Looking at a total of £1500 at Mercedes and of course you get warranty then. I had mine changed though warranty this week so it maybe cheaper if its a personal purchase.
