There are tens if threads on this topic. If you really want one and can afford to run one then do it. If you don't have the urge then get an m3?

Of course your mad, all Cerb owners are ) No, the Legendary unreliabilty is a big myth. You will get a few little niggles and spend time sorting them out now and then. The AJP V8 - 4.2 and 4.5, is an amazing engine, and provided the previous owner has treated it properly and not thrashed it from cold, then they are a very robust and reliable motor. A sorted speed 6 - the 4.0 - can also be a good buy. They are amazing cars, they do have the potential to bite your wallet hard, but buy a good one and you should be fine. They are not a cheap car to run compared to a modern Hot hatch, most people reckon to budget for about £3k a year, but you could end up spending a lot less. You'll have a car with the performance of a Ferrari, but with a fraction of the running costs, and 10 times more charisma and presence - Get one.

The car is not expensive to run. In fact it is cheap if you compare like with like. Check out any car of similar performance, include somewhat slower ones so you get a choice, and then look at running costs.

What you will find is that the Cerb compares very favourably.

I found two Cerbs, V8s, with over 100,000 on the clock with engines untouched, one used as a trackday car after a rather large accident.

But compared to a Chim/Griff they do cost a bit.

Just have your eyes wide open, if you stop bleeding through them and they haven't been poked out after a suitable period of reflection and consideration then get one, but only when you are sure. i hope that helps hehe

Yea you are mad but we all are!! I am selling mine and hate the idea of never quite having that insane grin again or just that special feeling when go and press that black button and she burbles into life. So many memeries its hard to explain although everyone on this site that owns one will tell you the same.

My Cerbera is more reliable than my current car!

It has not had ANY problems in the almost two years I've had it.
Well a couple of throttle pots were changed at service, but it never stopped her running!

Recently my other car (A8) fuel pump just stopped! A know fault on the A8 D2!

My A8 air con drains have blocked up and the floor is now soaked! A known fault on the A8 D2!

The wipers have stopped parking! A known problem with A8 relays. (wish I could find it!)

Just replaced the suspension as not one but 2 springs broke in the last year!
Mind you fitting the 4X4 Sport set up has improved things considerably!

Cruise control only works when it feels like it! Pump needs replacing, YEP a know problem on the A8.

Radio aerial has seized and the gear mechanism has grunched itself to bits! Yes another well known problem with the A8, so wire disconnected to stop all the crunching.

Don't stop me loving that A8, might only be a 2.8, but she can motor and is such a great drive!

Totally different to my Cerbera, which is what make the Cerbera so nice to drive.
But I wonder if a tip-tronic box could be fitted to a Cerbera?? HA-HA!
