A few weeks ago, I spent a little time researching what new knife to get for going up the hills etc, and I discovered the British Blades forum (incidentally, they seem a great bunch!) and this, combined with our thread here on torches and the links to the CandlePowerForums, got me thinking -there really IS a forum for just about everything, isn't there?

There also doesn't seem to be any limit to the kind of things folk get geeky about either, which I think is kinda cool...in a geeky way!

So, what's the oddest forum / subject you've discovered?

Completely geeky, but very handy. I've signed up to half a dozen forums to ask for advice from people who actually do/use whatever it is I'm thinking of doing/buying.

There is even a whole web forum dedicated to old british sports cars that are so unreliable the factory went out of business...can you imagine the geekery.

Whilst on a forum for a brand of american lathes (geeky enough in itself), someone made mention of a "wet shaving forum", which is the most obscure I've heard of.

Maybe it was a perv thing. But the guy made razor handles so I'm assuming not.

I think the candlepower forums count.

I won't go into fetish forums because of rule 34.

Loads of people are properly into shaving. They collect straight razors, stops, stones etc. discuss techniques. Not my cup of tea, but I did stumble upon a site with a guy posting videos himself shaving and people commenting and talking about it the way someone on here may post an onboard track day video.

Great forum, really helped me out with two problems. 1) i'd used to get so many spots from using my mach 3 and now i don't with my double edge razor. 2) i used to buy a lot of expensive products to counteract the spots, now i don't have to!

Geeks really can help you out.

i once found a forum about time travelling. There were loads of serious threads on there from people claiming to stuck here from the future, asking for help to get back. People were replying with serious suggestions of help etc. It was pure comedy! i think it's gone now though as i tried searching for it to show someone once.

no, it's still there, but in an alternate reality...
